On March 25, 2025, a truck bearing Querencia markings rear-ended a golf cart at Querencia Los Cabos. A 5-year-old girl was thrown from it and hospitalized.

The Querencia Los Cabos accident happened on March 25, 2025, at around 10:15 a.m., when a RAM 700 truck bearing Querencia markings rear-ended a golf cart carrying one adult and three children on Boulevard Querencia, inside the Querencia Los Cabos development in San José del Cabo, Baja California Sur, Mexico. A 5-year-old girl was thrown from the cart. Police and hospital records show she was admitted to Hospital H+ Los Cabos at about 10:40 a.m. and stayed until March 28, 2025. A CT scan ruled out brain or spinal injury.
What happened on Boulevard Querencia
Querencia Los Cabos is a private development in San José del Cabo, Baja California Sur, and Boulevard Querencia is one of its roads. The driver's interview with a state investigator and the official inspection records describe what happened there that morning as a rear-end collision.
In that interview, recorded on March 26, 2025, the driver told the investigator: "I got distracted for a few seconds looking down and could no longer avoid it" (translated from Spanish; the original reads "me distraje unos segundos volteando hacia abajo y ya no pude evadirlo").
The impact threw the 5-year-old girl from the cart. Hospital H+ Los Cabos recorded it in its notice (aviso al Ministerio Público) to the state Public Prosecutor's Office, the authority that investigates crimes.
Care at the hospital
The girl was admitted to Hospital H+ Los Cabos at about 10:40 a.m., accompanied by her father and by the club's doctor.
Her discharge order (orden de egreso), dated March 28, 2025, records that she arrived in the trauma room with a score of 9 on the Glasgow Coma Scale, a standard emergency-room measure of a patient's level of consciousness. The same order records that the score improved to 14 after initial treatment.
The hospital's notice to prosecutors records significant respiratory distress, widespread crackles in both lungs and reduced oxygen levels.
Hospital records list her diagnosis as pediatric polytrauma, head trauma, blunt chest trauma, pulmonary contusion and laceration, a traumatic pneumatocele (an air-filled cavity in the lung caused by injury) and a 10% laminar pneumothorax (a thin layer of air between the lung and the chest wall). Her prognosis was guarded. A CT scan ruled out brain or spinal injury.
The on-duty emergency physician at Hospital H+ Los Cabos, interviewed by a state investigator on March 25, 2025, said the injuries "may put her life at risk" (translated from Spanish: "pueden poner en riesgo la vida").
She remained in the hospital from March 25 to March 28, 2025. Her discharge order instructed that she avoid immersion in water and contact sports.
What the records show next
Police received no report from the scene: according to the police reports, municipal traffic police had no report of the crash when C2, a command and monitoring center, reported it at 12:54 p.m. The records show that the authorities learned of the accident from the hospital, not from Querencia's staff; the full sequence is in how the authorities found out about the accident.
Court records show that on July 15, 2026, a prosecutor asked a pretrial judge (Juez de Control), who oversees the investigation stage, to hold an initial hearing (audiencia inicial) to formally bring charges against the driver, the club's doctor and Querencia Construcciones, S. de R.L. de C.V. (a Mexican limited-liability company form, roughly comparable to a U.S. LLC). The driver and the club's doctor are under investigation, and an initial hearing is not a trial; how the criminal case works in Mexico explains each documented step.
